Yes, yes.. I know what you are trying to say. I understand hipsterism. *laugh* I still think that REGARDLESS of their ascots and elements of borrowed sound, that they (or shall I say Reggie) have something magnetic.

Really, this seems like an attack on them personally. Either way, it is too venomous to continue. I’m leaving it at what you last said.. we will see.

ive had to sit through that bland white bread pop live too many times.whats fun about a group of tired shoegazers and a lead singer who prances like the perfect mom and dad approved clone standard of a gazillion ‘look at me’ popwimp wannabes before with nothing new to offer musically and if ya think they arent on the high of hipster hill in jacksonville…you obviously dont get out much or know anything about the members. theres a watermark for this type of hype….yall see.

You don’t think they will play anywhere but local “hipster clubs?” When that is proven wrong shortly, will you come back and give us an acknowledgement post?

And of course.. most things eventually fade to unfashionable.

I’ve heard a lot of “unfresh pop bands” and am easily bored with scenester crap and I would not put “Black Kids” in that catagory. The thing is… they really are so much fun. Have you been to one of their shows? Hopefully when their music has been properly recorded and produced, their live energy will be better captured.

Either way, I’m sure you’ll have another degrading nickname for us.

in a few years they will be known as that band that had yr average flash in the pan attention like numerous other crappy unfresh pop bands and failed to break anywhere cept yr local hipster club and the handful of hipsters that are attracted to rehashed cure melodies from one hyped fad act to the next…maybe try Kool Kids.

“Rich Kids?” Where is the money behind the band? I mean, it isn’t like they have benefited from expensive promotion. In fact, they have had NO promotion. And they aren’t one of those bands that took a series of low paing gigs all over the country, just to get their name out there. THAT would have required some funding. There is definitely talent in their created STYLE. Their appeal is really about CHARISMA and ENERGY. Really, though.. sometimes a fresh vibe and an element of fun are way more important than another brilliant guitar riff.

Whatever the case, these guys have played less than 30 shows total with only one outside of Jacksonville, and had no advertisement other than a few flyers at clubs and a myspace page that they paid little attention to before the “Athens Pop Fest.” There are tons of bands out there that have way more invested financially, and you’ve never heard of them and never will. I have a feeling YOUR CHILDREN will know the name “Black Kids.”
