Last Friday, I went to Club TSI in downtown Jacksonville to see one of my favorite local bands, the Black Kids (interviewed earlier this year on this web site), perform as part of their CD release party. The strange part was…there were no CD’s. Hmmm… could this signify the imminent breakup of the Black Kids? I certainly hope not.
On Saturday, as part of my freelance work, I covered the First Coast Gay Pride Festival at the SeaWalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach. The strange part was…there were no religious fanatics on hand to protest the event. Hmmm… could this mean that the City of Jacksonville is finally growing up? I certainly hope so.

No need to fear, us Black Kids are simply tweakin’ the CD. It shall indeed be completed soon, just not in time for the CD release (obviously).
